How to size mixing bowls
Measure the cutout, not the existing unit
Mixing-bowl size is quoted in quart capacity. 1–2 qt for prep (whisking eggs, dressings). 3–4 qt standard family-size mixing. 5–6 qt doubles, dough rising. 8 qt+ bread baking, large batches. A nesting set of 3–5 covers most home kitchens.
Plumbing and electrical reduce usable depth
